CATL and Xiamen City will jointly build a zero-carbon technology city.

On December 31, 2025, CATL and the Xiamen Municipal People's Government signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Xiamen.  The two parties will jointly build a zero-carbon technology city and explore new pathways for the development of zero-carbon cities and industries. Zhuang Rongliang, member of the Standing Committee of the Xiamen Municipal Committee and Vice Mayor of Xiamen, and Chen Weifeng, General Manager of Xiamen CATL, signed the agreement on behalf of both parties. Cui Yonghui, member of the Standing Committee of the Fujian Provincial Committee and Secretary of the Xiamen Municipal Committee, Wu Bin, Deputy Secretary of the Xiamen Municipal Committee and Mayor of Xiamen, and Zeng Yuqun, Chairman and CEO of CATL, and Wu Yingming, Director and Regional Management President of CATL, attended and witnessed the signing ceremony.

Currently, Xiamen is actively implementing the national "dual carbon" strategy, committed to building a clean and low-carbon energy system and industrial structure, and accelerating the construction of a green development demonstration city. The two parties will focus on establishing a global zero-carbon technology research and development center, vigorously developing zero-carbon technology services, and using the Zero-Carbon Technology City as a core platform to attract and gather upstream and downstream enterprises in the zero-carbon industry, building a collaborative industrial ecosystem. CATL will leverage its existing industrial base in Xiamen, including Xiamen CATL, New Energy An, CATL Electric Service, and CATL Energy Storage, to comprehensively expand its zero-carbon ecosystem business layout.

In the future, the Zero-Carbon Technology City will become a crucial support for Xiamen's urban transformation and upgrading and high-quality industrial development during the 15th Five-Year Plan period, and will also help CATL explore a second growth curve. The two parties will jointly build the Zero-Carbon Technology City into a benchmark with leading technology, industrial agglomeration, and ecological harmony, helping Xiamen become an important node city in the new development pattern, a national model city for green development, and a city of innovation in the new energy industry.
